Pilates

Use pilates to support your physiotherapy treatment

My pilates sessions are created specifically to support your physiotherapy treatment.

Through one to one sessions or in small (two to four people) groups I will direct you through a series of exercises that will be tailored to your individual needs at every stage.

What is pilates

Pilates, and particularly STOTT PILATES is a holistic exercise system designed for strength, flexibility, postural alignment and endurance, with solid anatomical background to ensure suitability for people at all stages of life and levels of fitness. In addition to having been trained in pilates, your physiotherapist brings a superior level of anatomy, physiology, injury rehabilitation and movement optimisation experience to ensure that you are maximising your potential, and minimising any injury risk.

Why choose pilates with me

I have worked with clients in adolescence all the way to their 90th decade, presenting with a variety of health conditions (hypermobility, EDS, diabetes, disc injury, neurological conditions, chronic pain, pre and post surgery). I have also worked with semi-professional athletes and many endurance runners, so can design challenging workouts to suit these clients also. Having grown up in Australia and begun my career there, I have even used reformer pilates in the injury rehabilitation of Aussie Rules footballers!
